Summer 2024

Embarking on a summer internship on Capitol Hill or in a district office? Wondering how that internship will impact your long-term goals?

Wading through 535 Senate and Congressional offices, it’s easy to get lost in the fray. Hours spent in the office shouldn’t define your Washington, D.C., internship. We want to help you make your Summer 2024 experience your own.

The Heritage Foundation is pleased to offer the Summer 2024 Conservative Hill Intern Program (CHIP) – a series of weekly breakfast meetings designed to ground you in the extra knowledge and skills you need for long-term success.

  • Understand the foundation of conservative public policy.
  • Benefit from practical insights on how to thrive on the Hill and in a public policy office.
  • Cultivate essential career skills.
  • Build connections with your fellow conservative interns.

Admitted participants are invited to take part in all sessions, including those that are hosted before and after their internship term. In-person sessions will be streamed live for district interns. See below for a sample list of topics and speakers from last summer.

Applications for the summer program open in May.
All fall and spring Capitol Hill interns are encouraged to apply to the Local University Conservatives Network.
