Karen Harned, Executive Director, National Federation of Independent Business Small Business Legal Center
Karen Harned has served as Executive Director of the National Federation of Independent Business Small Business Legal Center since April 2002. Prior to joining the NFIB, Ms. Harned was an attorney at a Washington, D.C. law firm specializing in food and drug law. She also served as Assistant Press Secretary to U.S. Senator Don Nickles of Oklahoma from August 1989 to March of 1993.

Tom Jipping, Chief Counsel, Office of Senator Orrin G. Hatch
Tom has served on the Senator's staff since 2003 and is his senior adviser on the Constitution, nominations, and legislative matters including social issues, religious liberty, disability, and civil rights. Prior to joining Senator Hatch's office, he served for 12 years as Vice President for Legal Policy and Director of the Center for Law & Democracy at the Free Congress Foundation, where he founded and led the Judicial Selection Monitoring Project. He received his B.A. with honors from Calvin College and both his J.D. cum laude and M.A. in political science from the State of University of New York at Buffalo.

Paul Larkin Jr., Senior Legal Research Fellow, The Heritage Foundation
Paul Larkin directs The Heritage Foundation’s project to counter abuse of criminal law, particularly at the federal level. Before joining Heritage, Paul was an Assistant General Counsel for Verizon, served at the Department of Justice and Senate Judiciary Committee, worked in the Environmental Protection Agency as a special agent for criminal enforcement, and clerked for Judge Robert Bork. Paul received his law degree from Stanford Law School.
